Hello Citizens, Batman here.

Gotham’s Finest AUS got together last Saturday to help out at the Tweed City McDonalds for their annual McHappy Day fund raising event. McDonalds hold this event every year and a percentage of sales of special items (Big Mac hamburgers, crazy straws and Byron Bay cookies) is donated to Ronald McDonald House and children’s charities. This years event managed to raise $2 million Australia wide.

GFA were present at Tweed City for 5 and a half hours, during which time myself, Robin, The Joker, Catwoman, Two Face and the Riddler assisted McDonalds staff in collecting donations by way of bucket runs and gold coin donations for photos. (A very generous donation was made for a photo opportunity by DA’s own Mr. Kitty-Cosplay. Thanks mate). I am happy to report that we managed to raise just over $4,000 during our time with the good people of McDonalds. Thank you everyone who attended and donated generously.

This weekend we will be appearing again at Springfield Lakes to help raise awareness of Infant and Child Water safety through the Keep Watch program. This program is an initiative of the good people of Springfield Lakes and the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia to help prevent infant and child drowning. Myself, Catwoman, Two Face, The Riddler and the Joker will be appearing from 9.30am to 11.30am on Saturday the 21st November. It is at the Spring Lake Park at Springfield Lakes and it will be a family oriented day with a sausage sizzle, free fairy floss, demonstrations of CPR by the Royal Lifesaving Society and a magic show by Peebo and Dagwood the Clowns.

This is the last event GFA has booked for this year so, if you have the opportunity to get down to Springfield Lakes come down and say hi, as it might be a long time before you get the opportunity to see us again.
